Password Protected Photo Gallery

I've never been much of a paranoid person, (obviously, I have this blog). Anyway, a few people (ok a ton of people) have commented that we should have some sort of password on our photo gallery. I've ignored most of that for the last few years, but I finally decided to cave... So, grudgingly, I've made the Photo Gallery only available to registered (logged in) users. If you click on it while not logged in, it will basically do a whole lot of nothing. However, if you log in at the bottom left of the screen, it will magically begin working. Ain't that just great???? If you are a regular users, just click the Remember Me link so that you don't have to log in again... and again.. and again...

I'm getting fucking old

Yes, I know. I'm 31, and saying I'm old makes a lot of you, well... very old... sorry... (but it's true, you'll get over it). Anyhow, I've never really had a problem with my back, but recently, it's occasionally acted up.Since it's Christmas, and I'm far too girly to hang my own Christmas lights, we hired it out this year. Afterall, I wouldn't want to over exhert my freakishly old back. Anyway, since we hired real men to hang lights, and it was 10:00 AM on a Tuesday, oh yeah, and I was on vacation, I decided a cocktail was in order. After talking to the GUYS , I realized they needed some extension cables. I had a big box of them in the basement, so I preceeded to lift the extremely heavy box. (Actually, what really pisses me off is that it was pretty light). Despite it's tiny weight, once I got it out to the porch, I set it down, and @#%^ Muther Fucker @#$^% I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I could barely stand up straight. Of course, there...

MythTV SVN Downloads Working Again

OK,After pulling a lot of hair out, cursing at the computer, kicking the walls, and crying like a baby. I finally gave in to reason and sent some emails to the mythtv-dev list. Nigel was extremely helpful (as always) and made a few changes to the code. Now, after close to a month, the MythTV downloads are building each night again! Woohoo!!. Anyway, you can find the frontend and backend builds in the downloads section. Please note, the backend downloads now include FireWire support.

Kibitz 'n Bits

So, we've been putting blogs on this site for a while, but the site has gone a little more towards a family based site with pictures and then the technical MythTV downloads. Because of this, Brandy has decided to take her blogs and start out on her own. Her new site is www.kibitznbits.com (http://www.kibitznbits.com) . I strongly encourage everyone to check it out. She's promised to put more frequent posts out there than she did here. I'll be sure to nag her everyday for the regular readers out there. I'll still be putting my stuff out here, and I'm going to start putting announcements about the MythTV Downloads etc. For example, I might put a notice up here explaining why the stinkin' thing hasn't built for the past few weeks, or that based on popular requests, I installed the FireWire SDK so that the backends will include support for it... you know....Anywhoo, here's the email she sent out to her more frequent readers:As many of you know, I am an active 'blogger' and love to write short stories/essays in my free time that, up until now, I have always posted on my...
